Did you know that you may be able to automatically receive the latest application and firmware update suggestions directly to your device? Alternatively, you can check for updates and install them to your device manually by using the Software update application.

Activate automatic software checking

1. Select Applications > SW update.
   
   
2. Select Options > Settings.
   
   
3. To activate the automatic checking, select Auto-check for updates.
   
   
4. To select which access point is used to check for software updates, select Default access point.

1. To download and install the selected updates, Select Options > Start update.

You can also update your device software using your PC. To update the device software, you need the Nokia Software Updater application and a compatible PC with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista operating system, broadband internet access, and a compatible data cable to connect your device to the PC.

1. Download the latest version of Nokia Software Updater from Nokia website to your PC.
2. Connect you mobile device to your PC with a compatible USB data cable.
3. Use the Nokia PC Suite or Ovi Suite to back up the data in your device.
4. Install Nokia Software Updater.
5. Follow the instructions to update the software.
6. Restore your data files from the PC to your device.
