Finding and viewing video on your mobile device

Finding and viewing mobile video clips stored on your Nokia device is easy. Learn how to find video clips on your device by following the steps below, then view and browse your favorite clips with just the press of a button.

Please note: Your screen may look different from the screenshots below, depending on the device you are using.

1. Navigate to applications menu

Press the Menu key (usually located on the left side of the device’s main keys) to access the device’s applications menu.

2. Access your device’s Gallery/Video Center

While in the applications menu, use the scroll key to find Gallery (or Video Center) from the menu/list. Media files can be commonly found in the Gallery (or Video Center’s My Videos in the N95 8GB). Access the folder by pressing the Select key.

3. Access your media files

In the Gallery/Video Center main menu, access mobile video clips and still images stored on your Nokia device by selecting Images & videos from the main view, or select My videos in Video Center’s main menu.

4. Select a video clip for a larger view

After accessing your video files, browse files by using the left/right Scroll key. After you’ve found what you’re looking for, open the file by pressing the Select key.

5. View video clips

On newer devices, the selected video clip will be opened in the RealPlayer application. RealPlayer is a media player application that can be used to view various video formats.

6. Browse more videos, use volume control and play/pause video

You can browse through the video files by pressing the scroll keys. Pause the video clip by selecting Pause (left select key). The volume can be controlled with the volume buttons.

Viewing mobile video on a computer

Learn how to find and view video clips on your computer by following the steps below. You need to have Nokia PC Suite application installed on your computer in order to follow these instructions. Read more about Nokia PC Suite from www.nokia.com/pcsuite.

1. Connect your device to a compatible PC

In this example, we’ll use an Nseries device and a USB cable for the connection. Alternatively, you can also use a Bluetooth or infrared connection.

2. Select the transfer mode on your device

After you’ve connected the device to your computer, select PC Suite transfer mode from the list that appears on the device screen.

3. Open Nokia PC Suite application

The next step is to open the Nokia Nseries PC Suite software you’ve installed on your computer. After the software has opened, select Nokia Multimedia Player.

4. Nokia Multimedia Player opens

You can view and browse your mobile video clips with the Nokia Multimedia Player application that’s included in the Nokia Nseries PC Suite software. Open a video file from File>Open.

5. Control playback

You can control video playback with the application toolbar. In addition to standard play/stop/pause functions, the toolbar also includes volume control.

Viewing mobile video on TV

Did you know you can also view mobile video clips stored on your compatible Nokia device on a regular TV? Follow the instructions below to connect your device to a TV. The following images are from a Nokia N95 8GB multimedia computer.

1. Access device settings

Access your Nokia device’s settings menu by selecting Tools > Settings > General > Enhancement.

2. Access TV-out settings

After navigating to the Enhancements menu, select TV-Out from the list that appears on the device screen.

3. Set up TV-out settings

After accessing TV-out settings, choose settings that are suitable for your TV, e.g. screen size, TV system and flicker filter settings.

4. Select a video clip

After you’ve set up the TV-out settings, go to the device’s main menu, select Video Center from the main menu, and then select My videos. Then select the clip that you want to view on your TV set.

5. Connect device to a TV

Connect the TV-out cable to your compatible TV set. Make sure the cable is attached properly at both ends.

6. Select the correct AV channel

After you’ve attached the cable correctly, set your TV to the correct AV channel and you’re all set. Read more detailed instructions about selecting AV channels from your TV’s user guide.
